Excuses for not driving

I’m the driver in my group. It’s  ok since my buddies sort of live close by. But one of them has just gotten married & moved to the west. She needs to get a car ! Today she came up with a list of excuses.

 It’s not the cost, it’s the speed cameras, the fines, the jams, even the “baby on board” sign is annoying her . Not forgetting the bird shit…& more bird shit… so damn hard to get off the bird shit, it stains the car.......the pedestrians that walk in front of you, eyes NEVER leaving their h/p…. and how about people who sneak into the parking lot you’ve been waiting for the past 20 mins? Red lights, old people driving like snails in front. Sports cars that zoom by, weekend cars, Malaysian cars ,motor bikes ….. & more.....

OMG….….lol….

“Smile Romania” - toothpaste usage in Romania is the lowest in the European Union !!

I have a friend from Romania & she has the funniest stories for us always! Yesterday she told us about  a study called “Smile Romania” which reveals that toothpaste usage in Romania is the lowest in the European Union !!!! So I assume flossing is out of the question.

According to the study,  Romanians living in rural areas  only change their toothbrushes once every 10 years. And that toothpaste usage was the lowest in the EU. A dentist was reported saying that most Romanians do not even use it once a day &  that 80 per cent of the population had some form of “dental disease”.

But is that even possible? What kind of study is that, I ask her- is she pulling my leg….lol… ? I examine her perfect set of teeth (which looks better than mine) hmmmm…… weird but it’s in the news !

Anyway, if you happen to be reading this, just pay a visit to your dentist & have your yearly cleaning done before it’s too late ok? And don't forget to floss!

Collection: Old Singapore Notes

Are you a collector of sorts? Do you collect cards, key chains whatever? Well I collect old notes, hopefully one day my small collection will bear fruits like the story below.

 

This ten shilling note was uncovered in Scotland in a private collection. The note was issued on the order of the NSW Governor Lieutenant-Colonel Lachlan Macquarie in 1817 by the Bank of New South Wales (now Westpac) on the day the bank opened . That’s April 8, 1817 & 100 ten shillings notes were issued on the first day.

As a result, this is generating much excitement over its condition, rarity (this is the only known specimen ) and major historical significance.  It is estimated to fetch a whopping USD 224,000 when it goes under the hammer very soon.
