Lets all be friends again ..... for my seek !

Last year a couple of my pals decided to start a small business. A café, like Toast Box or Ya Kun, only theirs would be selling crepes, waffles and with higher priced coffee at the heartlands. But these joints are sprouting around town right? Many have done it to various degrees of success & failures. My pals are just being bored & a couple of them has been lay-off recently. They have some money, so looking forward to some investment, something to occupy their time.

They ask me to join in the fun. FUN ? Business school don't teach you, but common sense should warn you about never sharing a business with your best pals. When money is concern, even family will fight. I told them my concern & they brush it off. It'll be great they promised me.

Fast forward 8 months, now the 4 partners/friends are not talking to each other anymore! Anything & everything that could go wrong, went wrong with their venture. In the past we would meet together for birthdays etc... one time. Now I've to meet them separately for all their birthdays, my birthday & whatever day. It's getting exhausting.... for ME! This weekend I'm holding an intervention. Our almost 2 decades of friendship should be able to weather anything.... I hope ! Wish me luck.

The more you delegate the less you can be blamed for anything!

What do you think of people who never make decisions? As a result these people cannot be held accountable if anything goes wrong. How F--- up is that right? Is like the more you delegate the less you can be blamed for anything! That's almost like a motto in my department lately!

How it got to be this way? I don't know.... The recent series of lay-offs could be one of the reasons. The locals' kiasuism another I guess. Whatever it is, it's not cool & it's driving me nuts!

Everyone I know hates their passport photos, two thirds of them also hated their IC photos as well. Well I'm one of them, but now that my passport is about to expire, I've decided to take the most flattering, least embarrassing, best groomed, borderline glamor shot I can.

I bought a whitening tooth paste & have been using it for the past week to bleach my teeth.. Got a new haircut, dye it! Invest in an expensive SK11 facial, 2 days before. I even went to a proper studio to take it! My little secret- eye drops just before the shot to make my eyes sparkle!

The photographer though not Steve Mccurry of the "Afghan Girl" fame, is good enough for me as he looks arty ...lol... He fuss over me for a minute, making me feel like Hedi Klum & I go 'weeee......' Snap, snap & it's done!

Super Moon

Did you witness the much hyped about super moon? Ya the night was drizzling & clouded. Guess we were not in the right place. Friends send me a few images, so beautiful right ?

I love fried food.

Fried chicken, French fries, fried onion rings, And I don't just love fried food, I love the fried part ,all by itself! Who has not nibbled the fry off of something? I love KFC, extra crispy. When I'm in a Japanese restaurant, my favorite is tempura.

You have to agree that frying makes a good thing better. But the truly amazing thing about frying is that it will make even disgusting things better!
Example?
Calamari.
It's a squid for God's sake. Have you seen a squid? If you had , you wouldn't put it in your mouth. But fry it, any sea food dinner would not be complete without it!

Same thing with softshell crabs. A soft shell crab is a crab that has recently molted its shell, so that its exoskeleton is still soft. You wouldn't normally eat a soft exoskeleton, much less all the stuff that's inside a crab, which is whatever he ate last.
Do you think crabs are picky eaters?
I don't think so... So you have to factor that in.
Plus the eyes are still attached.
But fried it?
It became a delicacy! And I love it !

Still looks disgusting , but taste yummy ...lol...

Breakfast @ Botanic Gardens !

A colleague from an overseas branch is in town. So I thought I should bring him around. 2 days ago,  I took half a day off & brought him to Botanic Gardens for breakfast.  He came to Singapore many times already but this is the first time he had breakfast @ Botanic Gardens. He loved it.

He told everyone how awesome it was. Now everyone is asking me to bring them there too ...lol.. Well I told them they have to be male, single, 6ft , full head of curly hair ,big eyes with giraffe like lashes first !

Me on steroids ???

I went to the hair salon yesterday to do some hair treatment. When my favorite stylist & friend saw me, he almost screamed. "Wow, your hair grow so fast!!! What you did? you went on steroids ???"

Goodness everyone turned to stared at me. Probably thinking I'm really on steroids. How embarrassing. FYI, I'm not ! That stuff damages you!

My hair just happens to grow fast, I don't know why. Faster than a normal person. I sort of, have to explain & loud enough for everyone to hear me, I hope. The lady beside me looked at me with envy & started talking to me. She said her hair growth is like a tortoise moving, but she does save on cutting though, as it hardly needs cutting. Then everyone came up with all kinds of methods to expedite hair growth. Sometimes I enjoy going there, it's just fun talking with everyone, even complete strangers.
